Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of RG Kar Medical College: where a tragic incident involving the rape and murder of a doctor occurred last month, was taken into custody by the CBI on September 2.
On Tuesday, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) disclosed that Ghosh’s wife held two immovable properties without obtaining approval from the West Bengal government. In an official statement, the agency provided details of the raids carried out by its Kolkata branch on September 6.
These searches targeted seven locations, including Ghosh’s residence and properties linked to his relatives and associates, as part of the ongoing investigation into financial misconduct.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) announced that their search operations uncovered property-related documents, including a flat in Murshidabad, three flats in Kolkata, two residences in Kolkata purchased by Sandip Ghosh and his wife Sangeeta, as well as paperwork pertaining to a farmhouse owned by the couple.
“In addition to these findings, various incriminating documents and digital devices belonging to Dr. Sandip Ghosh were confiscated during the raids. The seized property documents are believed to have been acquired using proceeds from criminal activities,” the ED further stated.
